Olympic Champion Dara Torres Speaks to the Arizona Diamondbacks

No matter what sport you compete in, the lives of athletes share many parallels.  Olympic champion Dara Torres was able to hit on several of those similarities when she visited the Arizona Diamondbacks on June 19th.

Torres spoke with the Diamondbacks about her success and how she keeps in legendary shape.  She then threw out the first pitch prior to their game against the San Diego Padres.

The 12-time Olympic medalist was no stranger to competition at an elite level during a legendary career.  No other American swimmer swam in five different Olympics.

In 2008, the 41-year-old Torres became the oldest swimmer ever on Team USA and won three silver medals to boot.  Her impressive run that lasted more than two decades may never be matched in swimming again.

Torres is a Los Angeles native who competed collegiately at the University of Florida.  In her time with the Gators, she won a maximum of 28 All-American accolades.

Following retirement from the sport in 2012, Torres has remained active as a sought-after speaker.  In just the past year, she launched her own health & fitness app to share her tips and secrets with the world.
