New Dallas Cowboys Running Back Ezekiel Elliott Signs Pre-Draft Endorsement Deal with Nike

Nike made a big bet that former Ohio State Buckeyes running back Ezekiel Elliott would be a high first round draft pick.  They signed him to an endorsement deal this week.

Once Elliott was selected fourth overall by the Dallas Cowboys, Nike had a new marquee athlete tied to one of the biggest brands in sports.  They welcomed him to the company with a cartoon video of his 85-yard touchdown run during last year's Sugar Bowl.

Nike has inked several top prospects, including top overall pick Jared Goff and new San Francisco 49ers defensive end DeForest Buckner.  Elliott also promoted Old Spice during the lead-up to the NFL Draft.

Elliott had two of the greatest rushing seasons in Ohio State history.  This past season, he was a unanimous first-team All-Big Ten selection and rushed for 1,821 yards and 23 touchdowns.

As a sophomore, Elliott also ran for over 1,800 yards and helped the Buckeyes win the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship.  He was the Offensive MVP in both the Sugar Bowl semifinal game and the CFP title game.

During his freshman campaign, Elliott served as a backup running back to Carlos Hyde.  He came to Columbus from John Burroughs School in Ladue, Missouri where he was rated the ninth best running back in the Class of 2013 by Rivals.
