NBA All-Star Kevin Durant Hosts Charity Jazz Event in Oklahoma City on Sunday

This Sunday should be a special day for the Oklahoma City community and Thunder star Kevin Durant.  Durant is making his latest philanthropic contribution in form of a jazz event and live auction.

At his restaurant "KDs" in the downtown Bricktown district, "The Spot - A Night of Jazz" will take place with a special performance by legendary musician Roy Ayers.  It is the first official fundraiser held by the Kevin Durant Charity Foundation.

Durant's foundation mostly operates in-state, giving money to partner youth organization that deal with at-risk kids.  The event begins at 6 p.m. and some individual tickets and VIP packages remain avaiable.

Durant has quite simply put Oklahoma City on the map since he arrived with the relocated franchise in 2008.  He has grown into one of the best basketball players of the world and has been selected to seven straight All-Star teams.

From 2010-2014, Durant was also named first-team All-NBA and led the league in scoring each year.  In 2014, he averaged a career-high 32 points a game while adding 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists on the way to MVP honors.

The Thunder have been a perennial title contender  with Durant, reaching the playoffs five times and advancing to the 2012 NBA Finals.  He also won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA in 2012.
