NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin Speaks at the KDDP Awards Banquet in December

People across motorsports hold NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin in high regard. Attendees at the annual Kulwicki Driver Development Program awards banquet will be excited to hear from him this winter. 

The event takes place on December 14th at Charlotte Motor Speedway's Speedway Club. The Kulwicki Cup trophy will be awarded and a check for over $54,000 will be presented to the 2017 KDDP champion.

Seven drivers have competed for the award this year and the winner will be announced in November. Those who cannot attend the event, but want to watch Martin's comments can access a live webstream. 

Martin's racing career started in the American Speed Association, where he won four championships. He went on to accumulate 40 victories in NASCAR's Cup Series and 49 wins in the Xfinity Series. 

On five occasions, Martin finished second in the Cup Series standings. In 1998, he was named one of NASCAR's 50 Greatest Drivers. 

Martin went on to be inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and the NASCAR Hall of Fame. He currently owns a series of car dealerships in his home state of Arkansas.
