Mike Krzyzewski Named Duke's 2016 Spring Commencement Speaker

There is no man students on the Duke University campus would rather hear speak than basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski.  Krzyzewski will speak to Class of 2016 graduates at commencement May 15th.

The commencement ceremony is held at Wallace Wade Stadium.  It is open to the public. 

Krzyzewski is one of the greatest coaches in college basketball history.  He has led the Blue Devils to five NCAA Championships and is about to embark on his 36th season leading the program.

Krzyzewski’s 1,018 wins are an all-time Division 1 record. Along the way, he has captured 12 regular season ACC titles, 13 ACC Tournament championships, and been to 12 Final Fours.

In 2001, Krzyzewski was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.  He is also taking one more run at the 2016 Olympics as the head coach of the U.S. men’s basketball team after two successful gold medal hauls in 2008 and 2012. 

Off the court, Krzyzewski teaches leadership classes at Duke.  He is active in the community with his charitable work and as chairman of the board of directors for the Emily Krzyzewski Center.
