Kings Broadcaster Jim Fox Speaks at Glendale Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast

Jim Fox has been a fixture in the Los Angeles community for over 30 years first as a player and then as a broadcaster for the LA Kings.  It makes natural sense that he would be selected to be the speaker at the annual Glendale Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.

Last Thursday, Fox spoke at the event and shared plenty of hockey anecdotes.  The breakfast was held at the Glendale Civic Auditorium from 6-8 a.m.

Mayor Ara Najarian also spoke along with local religious leaders from various faiths and denominations.  General admission tickets were $30.

Fox played nine NHL seasons, all for the Kings after being the tenth overall pick in the 1980 draft.  He currently ranks ninth in franchise history with 479 points.

While starring for Los Angeles, Fox had three 30-goal seasons and made five trips to the postseason.  Following his retirement, he became a broadcaster and Director of Community Relations for the franchise.

After over a quarter-century in the booth, he remains the Kings television analyst today.  He also serves as Commissioner for the Los Angeles Kings High School Hockey League.
