InsureLine Agrees to Endorsement Deal with Popular Hockey Commentator Don Cherry

For many avid fans of the sport, commentator Don Cherry is as much a part of hockey as the players on the ice. He is one of the most famous sports broadcasters in the world, a platform that InsureLine is hoping to take advantage of.

The brokerage firm has agreed to a multiyear endorsement deal with Cherry. He will be featured in InsureLine online, print and radio advertising.

Cherry will also make appearances at local community events throughout Canada. InsureLine CEO Aly Kanji expects franchises across the country to see a positive impact with the national icon on board.

Cherry is known for his bold opinions and flashy suits that can be seen weekly on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada. He has shared his thoughts on the sport since the mid-1980s with the segment "Coach's Corner."

American hockey fans have also gotten to know Cherry through appearances on ESPN and NBC during the latter stages of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Prior to becoming one of the faces of hockey coverage, he had an extensive minor league playing career and saw action in one NHL game for the Boston Bruins.

Cherry went on to great success as a coach and was twice named the AHL Coach of the Year with the Rochester Americans. He led the Bruins for five seasons, guiding the team to two Stanley Cup Final appearances.
