Inspirational Retired Major League Pitcher Dave Dravecky Speaks at Man Alive Event Saturday

This Saturday, former Major League Baseball pitcher Dave Dravecky will share his unique journey with faith at a Christian men's conference.  He will be in Porterville, California at the Man Alive event.

The conference is being held at Porterville Church of the Nazarene.  Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for teens.

They will be available for purchase at the door prior to the event.  In addition to Dravecky's presentation, there will be 12 breakout sessions to further inspire at the conference.

Dravecky is well known for his battle with cancer during his playing career.  After finding a cancerous tumor in his pitching arm, he had to have part of his deltoid muscle removed.

Remarkably, Dravecky returned to pitch the following season, but two starts into his big league return, his humerous bone snapped and that injury effectively ended his career.  He finished his career 64-57 with a 3.13 ERA and one All-Star selection.

In 1991, doctors were forced to amputate his left arm after further complications.  Dravecky still persevered after baseball, becoming a successful motivational speaker and published author.
