Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith to Speak at Medical Foundation's Annual Benefit

Fresh off an appearance from inspirational broadcaster and cancer survivor Robin Roberts, The Medical Foundation of Marion & Polk Counties in Salem, Oregon has reeled in another great speaker for their 2016 benefit.

NFL all-time leading rusher and former Dancing With the Stars champion Emmitt Smith will grace the audience on April 8th of next year.  Smith will be speaking at an event that has raised an average of $175,000 each year.

The foundation was formed in 1999 and has had other notable speakers like Soledad O’Brien, Gabby Giffords, and Apolo Ohno.

Smith racked up 18,355 rushing yards in his 15-year NFL career spent mostly with the Dallas Cowboys.  The eight-time Pro Bowler won three Super Bowls and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

Upon retirement, Smith got involved in broadcasting and triumphed on the third season of DWTS.  He is also well known for his charitable work.  The Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities hosts an annual Celebrity Golf Invitational.

Smith’s book, “Game On: Find Your Purpose, Pursue Your Dream.” shares many of the principles that allowed him to be a success.  That message is one he delivers in speaking engagements around the country.
