Former Offensive Lineman Jon Jansen up for Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection

Few players ever reach the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but it is undoubtedly a goal of many.  Voting is underway for the 2016 Hall class and former offensive lineman Jon Jansen is one of 108 candidates.

Jansen is now living in Petosky, Michigan and his hometown paper recently did a profile on his candidacy for induction next August in Canton, Ohio.  Fans can select 25 individuals from the list that will move on to the next round of voting by going to www.nfl.com/hofvote.  The official class will be announced February 6th during Super Bowl week.  Some other notable candidates include Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, and Terell Owens

Jansen played ten NFL seasons, nine of those with the Washington Redskins.  He was a dominant right tackle, made 82 straight starts from 1999-2005, and was a second-team All-Pro selection in 2005.

The Redskins originally selected Jansen out of Michigan.  He left a great legacy with the Wolverines, as an All-American and team captain for the 1997 National Championship squad.

Jansen currently owns Petrosky Crossfit gym back home.  He is also an analyst for Michigan football on the Michigan Sports Network.
