Former NFL Offensive Lineman Jon Jansen Speaks at Petoskey High School Awards Banquet

Former offensive lineman Jon Jansen was such a popular speaker when he made an appearance at Petoskey High School in 2009 that they had to bring him back.  He again keynotes their year-end Varsity Awards Banquet.

The area resident and former Michigan Wolverine standout is a natural fit to speak at the 71st annual event.  Tickets cost $3 for varsity athletes and $5 for everyone else.

The price to attend also includes pizza, wings and a salad buffet.  Table sponsorships are also available for the event.

Jansen had an 11-year career that was a picture of durability.  He spent all but one of those seasons with the Washington Redskins and made 82 straight starts for the franchise from 1999-2005.

In 2005, Jansen was named a second-team All-Pro.  The Redskins originally selected him in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft.

Jansen was an All-American at Michigan as a senior and won a National Championship with the Wolverines as a junior.  He currently is a member of the UM radio crew, contributing pregame, halftime and postgame analysis.
