Former Major League All-Star Darryl Strawberry Speaks at HLG Booster Banquet

Former All-Star outfielder Darryl Strawberry has found a purpose-filled second life as a motivational speaker.  On November 11th, he will share his story once again as the keynote speaker for Hannibal-LaGrange University's 75th annual Booster Banquet.

Strawberry will be sharing his Christian testimony with the assembled crowd.  A sellout of over 800 people is expected in attendance.

Early bird general admission pricing to attend runs through October 28th for $60.  Proceeds from the tickets sold benefit Hannibal-LaGrange scholarships.

Strawberry had a successful 17-year big league career and was an eight-time All-Star.  He won four World Series titles, including the 1986 championship when he was a headline player for the New York Mets.

In 1988, Strawberry led the National League in home runs and won the first of his two Silver Slugger Awards.  He hit 335 home runs throughout his career.

Despite battling substance abuse problems early in his baseball career, Strawberry is now sober and shares his road to recovery in an attempt to encourage others.  He is an ordained minister and currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri.
