Former Louisville Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater Speaks at Courier-Journal Sports Awards This Spring

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is still a big name in Louisville, Kentucky. He is heading back to his college stomping grounds this summer as the speaker at the Courier Journal Sports Awards. 

The event takes place on June 7th at Louisville Palace. The best student-athletes from Kentucky and Southern Indiana high schools will be recognized. 

Individual tickets for the public to attend are $25 and the special four-pack rate is $18.75 per ticket. There is also a student promo for $10 tickets before fees. 

Bridgewater was a star from his start with the Cardinals and won the Big East Rookie of the Year award in 2011. As a sophomore, he led Louisville to a Big East championship and BCS bowl berth. 

That year, Bridgewater threw for 3,452 yards and 25 touchdowns which garnered him Big East Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Big East honors. He posted even stronger numbers as a junior and was named Most Valuable Player of the Russell Athletic Bowl. 

The Vikings selected Bridgewater in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft and he went on to win Rookie of the Year honors. He posted his first 3,000-yard passing season in 2015 and was selected to the Pro Bowl.
