Former College Football Coach Tommy Tuberville Keynotes Cullman County Sheriff’s Citizen Academy Graduation

Tommy Tuberville is one of the more successful college football coaches in recent memory. He is particularly well-respected in the state of Alabama where he spoke on Tuesday night at the Cullman County Sheriff's Citizen Academy graduation.

The ceremony was held at the Temple Baptist Church auditorium. 75 Cullman County residents graduated at the event, which was a significant jump from the original participant ceiling of 50.

The Academy is a new program that is 100% free to residents of Cullman County. Tuberville spoke extensively about his coaching career and shared applicable lessons for leadership.

After building a name in coaching as a lead assistant at the University of Miami and Texas A&M, Tuberville got his first head coaching opportunity at Ole Miss in 1995. After guiding the Rebels to a 25-20 mark over four seasons, he got his next opportunity at Auburn.

Tuberville spent a decade with the Tigers and led them to five Southeastern Conference West Division titles. Auburn won the SEC under his watch in 2004 and finished ranked second in the polls after going 13-0.

Tuberville was named SEC Coach of the Year twice. Most recently, he had head coaching stints at Texas Tech and Cincinnati.
