Former Boxing Champion Wladimir Klitschko Hosts Boutique Hotel Awards

Most know Wladimir Klitschko as a former boxing champion, but he is also a hotel owner. That made him an ideal host for the seventh annual Boutique Hotel Awards.

The event was held on Thursday at Merchant Taylors' Hall in London. The best boutique hotels in the world were honored and members of the Master Key Society were also in attendance.

Klitschko owns the 11 Mirrors Design Hotel in Kyiv, Ukraine. He was able to talk from a first-hand perspective about challenges and points of success in the industry.

Klitschko is a two-time world heavyweight champion. He has held the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, Ring magazine and lineal titles.

Klitschko originally gained notoriety for winning the Olympic gold medal in the super-heavyweight division in 1996. He won his first professional title in 2000 with a win over Chris Bryd for the WBO heavyweight title.

At 4,383 days, Klitschko holds the record for longest combined world championship reign. He fought in a record 29 heavyweight title fights and defeated ten former or current champions in his career.
