Former Boxing Champion Evander Holyfield Speaks at Sold Out Steak-N-Burger Fundraiser

Former boxing champion Evander Holyfield is a favorite of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He often gives speaking engagements all across the country at local chapters, including Thursday night in Albany, Georgia.

Holyfield spoke at the group's sold-out Steak-N-Burger fundraiser. They hoped to raise over $100,000 at the 31st annual event, which helps keep their fees down throughout the year.

Holyfield talked about his own roots with the Boys & Girls Clubs and the foundation they set for his life. In addition to speaking at the dinner, he also toured several local clubs throughout the day.

Holyfield was the first boxer to ever holds the undisputed titles in the heavyweight and cruiserweight divisions. He is the only man to be a four-time world heavyweight champion.

In 1984, Holyfield announced his presence in the boxing world by winning a bronze medal in the light heavyweight division at the Olympics. He won his world title at cruiserweight in 1986.

Holyfield defeated boxing legends like George Foreman, Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson throughout his career. He officially announced his retirement in 2014 and his career record stands at 44-10-2.
