Ex-NFL Player Shawn Harper Speaks at Canon City High School

Former NFL player turned motivational speaker Shawn Harper will be impacting people at Canon City High School with his message of perseverance Tuesday 6-8 PM.  The event is free to the public at the high school’s Tiger Dome.

St. Thomas More Health Foundation provided the opportunity to put on this event at no cost to the public. “The Culture of Honor” it the title of the session and it will be run by local elementary school student leaders.

After speaking to various groups since the 1990s, Harper has seen first-hand how just a few words can produce impactful results in people’s lives.  Those who come out to hear his words are bound to leave with something to implement to their own personal journeys.

Harper’s talks focus on people tearing away from negative patterns and achieving to their potentials.  He speaks from personal experience, rising from a humble upbringing and several learning disabilities to a life of success.

Harper was also lightly recruited and had to play his way onto the Indiana University roster through North Iowa Community College.  He went on to be drafted by the Los Angeles Rams and make several NFL rosters.

His spirit to overcome has led to all the amazing post-football opportunities as well.  In addition to his speeches, Harper also serves as a personal life coach to individuals.  He is CEO of American Services and Protection in Columbus, Ohio.
