Draymond Green Holds Camp and Speaks at Rally Back Home in Saginaw, Michigan

Since winning the NBA title with the Golden State Warriors, Draymond Green has had a stacked schedule.  That also will include navigating the waters of restricted free agency when the league’s negotiating period opens Wednesday, but for now Green can focus on some of the fun aspects of being an athlete in the spotlight.

This past week, he took part in his three-day youth basketball camp back home in Saginaw, Michigan.  Green held the camp at his alma mater Saginaw High.

On Saturday, the city also hosted a championship parade for Green.
He spoke to the 500 people assembled and also saw a banner honoring him that will be hung in the high school’s gym.

After a breakout third season, Green is recognized as one of the best defensive players in basketball.  He was honored with a spot on the All-NBA Defensive First Team after averaging 11.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game during the regular season.

Green upped those averages in the playoffs as the Warriors were eventually able to knock off the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.  To also add to his impressive season, he finished as the runner-up for both the Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player awards.

After being Big 10 Player of the Year with Michigan State in 2012, Green was a second round pick in the NBA Draft.  Since, he has worked to become a player who is certainly poised to only raise his profile in the coming years.
