Dallas Mavericks Star Harrison Barnes Announces Summer Basketball Camps in Iowa

Dallas Mavericks star Harrison Barnes is making his usual tour through his home state of Iowa this summer. He will host a trio of Elite Basketball Camps in Council Bluffs, Cedar Rapids and Ames.

The first camp kicks off in Council Bluffs at Thomas Jefferson High School June 23-24. That will be followed by sessions in Cedar Rapids June 26-27 at Kennedy High School and June 29-30 in Ames at the HB Ames High Booster Club Basketball Camp.

Each day, camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon and the activities are designed for boys and girls ages 6-16. Registration costs $249 for each location and sign-up is currently live on Barnes' official website.

In his first season in Dallas, Barnes is currently averaging a career-high 19.6 points per game. In November, he scored a career-best 34 points in an overtime win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Barnes spent the first four seasons of his career with the Golden State Warriors. He was an instrumental player in the team's run to back-to-back NBA Finals.

The Warriors originally selected him with the seventh overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft. He played two seasons of college basketball at North Carolina and was a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection.
