CBS Football Analyst Tony Gonzalez Makes Guest Star Appearance on NCIS Tomorrow Night

Tony Gonzalez has made a successful post-football career transition.  Gonzalez is one of the rising stars in football commentating as a member of the CBS Sports team.

Tomorrow night, the former All-Pro tight end will be segwaying into a different type of entertainment.  Gonzalez will make an appearance as Special Agent Tony Francis on CBS’ NCIS.

NCIS airs Tuesdays at 8:00.  Gonzalez is appearing on the drama series to promote CBS’ NFL platforms, particularly Thursday Night Football.

Gonzalez is currently one of the analysts on the CBS Sunday pregame show, The NFL Today.  His progression to well-liked football commentator is one that many in the league predicted while he was still playing. 

It certainly does not hurt Gonzalez’s popularity in retirement that he was one of the greatest tight ends to ever play.  He made a record 14 Pro Bowls and was a six-time first-team All-Pro selection.

Gonzalez holds NFL career records for yards, receptions, and touchdowns by a tight end.  He had a remarkable 12-year run with the Kansas City Chiefs before playing the final five seasons of his career with the Atlanta Falcons.
