Boxing Great Sugar Ray Leonard Keynotes JCC Sports Night in August

The Katz Jewish Community Center has an American sports legend coming to speak. Boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard will keynote their third annual Jackie and Hank Hershowitz Sports Night. 

The event takes place from 6-9 p.m. on August 17th. General admission tickets are $200 or $375 for two. 

There is also an opportunity to purchase advanced packages that included a VIP meet and greet reception with Leonard. The proceeds raised benefit the Jackie and Hank Hershowitz scholarship fund. 

Leonard is considered one of the greatest boxers of all-time and went 36-3-1 in his professional career. He turned pro after winning a gold medal in the light welterweight division at the 1976 Olympics. 

Leonard went on to win world titles in five different weight divisions. He was the lineal champion in three of those divisions and the undisputed welterweight champion.

The Boxing Writers Association of America named Leonard Fighter of the Year in 1976, 1979 and 1981. He is a member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
