Basketball Great Bill Walton Named Keynote Speaker at KidWorks Fundraising Luncheon

Bill Walton is one of the more colorful personalities in basketball history.  As a broadcaster now, people hang on every Walton description and his familiar catch phrases.

That flair with the spoken word has made him a popular public speaker.  On November 19th, Walton will deliver the keynote address at the KidWorks’ Foundation for Success Fundraising Luncheon.

The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel at Santa Ana/Orange County Airport.  Sponsorship packages, table deals, and individual tickets for $295 are available at www.kidworksonline.org.

Walton is one of the greatest big men in NBA history, despite battling through various foot injuries throughout his career.  He was a two-time NBA champion and the 1978 MVP.

A force defensively, Walton led the league in rebounding and blocked shots in 1977, the year his Portland Trail Blazers won the title.  He left an even more indelible impact at UCLA, winning three national college player of the year awards and two NCAA championships.

Walton overcame childhood stuttering to become a dynamic speaker.  He has been a basketball analyst for NBC and ESPN and currently serves in that role for the Pac-12 Network.
