Baseball Hall of Famer Billy Williams Holds Autograph Signing at Indianapolis Indians Game

This Saturday, one of baseball's living legends makes his way to an Indianapolis Indians game.  Hall of Famer Billy Williams will be in attendance for an autograph signing prior to the Indians game.

500 wristbands will be distributed when gates open at 5 p.m.  Williams will sign items in centerfield at the PNC Plaza as part of the Signature Saturdays series hosted by the ballclub.

To attend the signing, fans are recommended to enter the gate on the corner of West and Maryland Streets.  This past Friday, Williams joined Dan Dakich's afternoon drive radio show in Indianpolis, so expect a large turnout at the game.

Williams spent 16 of his 18 storied seasons with the Chicago Cubs.  He was a six-time National League All-Star, compiled over 2,700 hits and hit over 400 home runs in his career.

Williams was a success right out of the gate, being named NL Rookie of the Year in 1961.  His best season likely came in 1970, when he hit .322 with 42 homers and 129 on the way to finishing runner-up in the NL MVP race.

In 1987, Williams was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.  His jersey has been retired by the Cubs and they unveiled a statue in his honor outside of Wrigley Field in 2010.
